Join us to explore how a yoga practice will help you prevent injuries by strengthening muscles, increasing flexibility and range of motion and bring balance to your body. You will also learn to better utilize your breath and increase lung capacity to enhance running performance and yoga practice. We will begin our practice with a dynamic sequence (designed to be performed pre-run as a warm up) and move seamlessly into sun salutations that link strength building exercises and yoga poses targeting muscle groups specific to running (hamstring, quadriceps, hips and core). The workshop will wind down with longer held poses aimed at releasing connective tissue and common tight areas in the body due to running. Finally, you will learn to become more in tune with your body. We will discuss becoming more adept at listening to what your body is saying. This workshop will help you, not only to endure, but to enjoy those miles injury free!
