Kelly first came to yoga in 2000 while at the University of Pittsburgh and practiced periodically for the next decade. In 2010 yoga became an integral part of her work out routine. As her practice deepened, she found that the strength, breath and focus needed in yoga has helped her successfully take on other challenges, from pregnancy to marathon training. She finds the lengthening and stretching in yoga to be the perfect balance to running and other high impact workouts. Practicing yoga has not only improved her strength and flexibility, it has brought balance to many aspects of her life.
For Kelly, yoga is a great physical and mental practice which allows her to release the stresses of everyday life and to "just be". Once Kelly started to see the many positive changes yoga brought to her own life, she was inspired to share this practice with others. In 2015 Kelly achieved her RYT 200 hour certification through the Yoga Alliance. Her classes combine a series of energetic poses and stretching, which are all connected through the power of inhaling and exhaling. The goal is to build both strength and flexibility, while creating a stronger mind/body connection. A basic understanding of yoga is helpful, but all levels are encouraged.
